A World with Sustainable Plastics

People are using plastics recklessly and are not caring about nature. Due to the overuse of plastics billions of aquatic organisms are losing lives every year.

In the year 2017, alone the United States produced 35.4 million tons of plastic garbage. Reckless dumping of plastics in ocean bodies threatens the lives of aquatic organisms. Not only in the US but also in every part of the world, plastics are destroying the natural elements of the planet.

In the past few years, plastics have raised the concern of human lives. Moreover, the application of extra charges in shops on purchasing plastic. But the scientist keeps on looking for a solution to have a wall with sustainable plastics.

The excessive use of plastics has not only threatened the lives of organisms but also bring changes in the ecosystem. We all know how every other organism is dependent on each other in this environment.

Scientists have developed recyclables plastics that can reduce the enormous amount of waste in plastic form. Furthermore, these plastics are reusable as many times as possible.

However, this method still does not fulfill the level of sustainability. Therefore, scientists developed sustainable plastic which is organic and eco-friendly.

Bioplastics: Sustainable Plastics

Made from chemical compounds, bioplastics have proven to be a better alternative option for traditional plastics. Since the invention of plastics, humans have been dependent on them completely. Even while doing groceries people used plastic bags. There is no harm in using plastic bags but the problem arises when they are not properly disposed of.

Biodegradable plastics consist of natural polymers from agricultural, cellulose, or potato and corn starch waste. These are completely degradable, uniformly resistant, and versatile. Further, they are already used in agriculture, the textile industry, medicine, and as well as, in the container and packaging market.

However, these bioplastics are generally more eco-friendly than traditional plastics. A study by the University of Pittsburgh contradicts bioplastics as a complete sustainable method.

The researchers concluded that plastics produce a greater amount of pollutants due to fertilizers and pesticides in growing crops. Sustainable plastics, in fact, contribute more towards ozone depletion additional plastics and require extensive land use. The study confirmed B-PET, the hybrid plastic, has the highest potential toxic effect on the ecosystem.

But compared to traditional plastics bioplastics are much more sustainable and there is no question about that. They do not affect the greenhouse gases and events increment of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Hence the use of bioplastics is much more efficient.

 Liquid Additive for Biodegradable Plastics

Various companies that produce plastics have adopted the process of making bioplastics. BioSphere Plastic is the leading company in biodegradable plastic additive technology in the market. They provide the most competitive environmental resolutions for biodegradable plastic.

BioSphere offers its products in three distinct modes, powder, pellets, and liquid formulations. The company formed in 2012 and has upgraded biodegradation up to 5 times faster.

Even though biodegradable plastics are available in the market for a long time, the company has marked its territory in very few years. Recently, BioSphere has released its liquid biodegradable plastic additive to all customers worldwide. The liquid biodegradable additive is for both plastic and paper industries.

BioSphere President Mr. Rob Huegli stated, “Our newest addition to our product portfolio will allow all types of plastic manufacturers to utilize our groundbreaking technology that is priced competitively for the market. Our liquid biodegradable additive is priced competitively for the market.”
